She first made an appearance an actor in 1997 at the age 13 years old. At the age of 13, Vandervoort made her debut as an actor when she was 13 years old. After taking several courses and performing background work for Canadian shows such as Road to Avonlea or Harriet the Spy she got her acting role as a speaker on the Canadian children's horror anthology Goosebumps. There were commercials followed by guests as stars as in Mutant X, Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story, Goosebumps, Twice in a Lifetime, Doc, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Troubled Waters, The Dresden Files, and a few Disney Channel original movies (Mom's got A Date with a Vampire and Alley Cats Strike), at the age of 19, studying at York University [12] in the faculties of Psychology as well as English. landed a lead role as Sadie Harrison in the CTV Teen drama Instant Star The show was on for four seasons. Vandervoort's first film, The Lookout, was released in 2006. The film starred Jeff Daniels along with Matthew Goode as well as Isla Fischer. Vandervoort's television career began with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In the following season, she was cast in the role as Clark Kent's Kryptonian Cousin "Kara Kent", (the woman who became Supergirl), in The CW serial-drama program Smallville. Her appearances on seasons seven and eight were as a regular season character, "Bloodline". [3] In the tenth season and final episode Smallville She returned to appear in two additional episodes. After The CW, Vandervoort shot The sequel to the film Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2 : The Reef. The Jazzman is her third independently produced film.
